Title:
MOLTEN METAL SUPPLY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETECTING STAIN OF DUCT THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2012101275
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To detect stain, e.g., caused by the sticking of the oxide of molten metal at the inside of a duct and the oxidation of the inside face of the duct itself, thus to easily know the cleaning time of the duct.

The device includes inductors 14, 24 for giving thrust to molten metal 12 in a duct 1 and supplying the same. The device further includes a level sensor 19 for detecting the molten metal 12 pumped up in the duct 1 by the inductors 14, 24. The level sensor 19 detects the fact that the inductor 14 has pushed up the molten metal 12 in the duct 1 to a predetermined height h2, further measures the time required for the pushing-up of the molten metal 12, and compares the measured value with a predetermined standard value to detect the stain in the duct 1.
