Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the yield of the molten metal in a container by disposing a refractory tube for an electromagnetic pump at the upper oblique part from the bottom of a heat insulating container to a molten metal inlet and extending it not only to the bottom wall of the tube but toward the bottom of the container. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic pump 2 is formed of a refractory tube 2a and an inductor 2b for generating a movable magnetic field. The tube 2a has two opening ends 2a1, 2a2 connected to the bottom and a molten metal inlet 3 of a heat insulating container 1, and obliquely disposed in the container 1. The inductor 2b as the component of the pump 2 is composed of a section 2b1 which is disposed along the bottom wall surface of the tube 1a and a section 2b2 which extends to the bottom of the container 1 with the length of at least one pole.
