To provide a molten metal treatment device where, upon molten metal treatment for Al and an Al alloy, inclusions sank to the furnace bottom and inclusions floating on a molten metal surface are not intruded into molten metal, and to provide a molten metal treatment method performed using the molten metal treatment device.
At the inside of a cylindrical body 11 in a rotary rotor 8 arranged in aluminum alloy molten metal 2 stored into a treatment tank 3, the aluminum alloy molten metal 2 is stirred by the rotation of a rotor blade 10, and, treatment gas is blown, together with this, from a gas blow-off port 6 at the inside of the cylindrical body 11 to a direction crossed with the vertical direction. The aluminum alloy molten metal 2 entangled with the refined treatment gas while being entangled in the aluminum alloy molten metal 2 stirred at the inside of the cylindrical body 11 is exhausted as a concentrated discharge flow, and the molten metal going to the furnace bottom and the molten metal surface is suppressed, thus the influence of the discharge flow exerted on the furnace bottom and the molten metal surface can be relaxed.
