In this molten slag discharge device, a drop passage 3 is formed so that the molten slag S is allowed to drop from a melting furnace 2, a water tank 4 is disposed to receive the molten slag S at a lower end of the dropping passage 3 and quickly cool the same, a conveyor 5 for discharging the molten slag S dropping into the water tank 4, from the water tank 4 is disposed inside of the water tank 4, and receiving bodies 6 capable of receiving the molten slag S dropping in the drop passage 3 at an upper part with respect to the conveyor 5, are disposed switchable between a receiving state for receiving the molten slag S and a non-receiving state for dropping the received molten slag S. Penetrating sections through which the molten slag S of a predetermined size or less passes downward in the received state, are dispersedly provided in the receiving bodies 6.
