To provide a molten slag-treating facility which can prevent bubbles from occurring inside concrete even when using granulated blast furnace slag mixed with cement as aggregate for concrete without needing a large-scaled facility construction and which can inhibit the elution of heavy metals even in a natural environment, and also to provide a method for treating the molten slag using the facility.
The facility includes: a granulated blast furnace slag tank 2 for receiving the molten slag S generated from a melting furnace 1 and water-cooling to form the granulated blast furnace slag; a slag conveyor 3 for carrying out the granulated blast furnace slag disposed in the tank 2; and a slag pit 6 for receiving the slag carried out by the conveyor 3. Further, there is provided a stabilizing treatment mechanism for stabilizing the granulated blast furnace slag conveyed by the conveyor 3 between the tank 2 and the slag pit 6, and the mechanism is composed of an alkaline water supply means 4 and an acidic water supply means 5 in this order.
