To provide a molten slag cooling and solidifying facility which has a large capacity and can be operated stably by reducing the fluctuation of the cooling load imposed upon a cooling device and from which cooled slag can be removed easily.
The molten slag treatment facility treats molten slag discharged from a melting furnace 10 which is constituted in such a way that the furnace melts an object to be melted while keeping a molten material in the furnace 10. The facility is provided with a molten slag cooling device 20 on the outer peripheral surface of which a pair of water-cooled drums 21a and 21b to which molten slag is supplied and made to adhere is horizontally arranged, with the outer peripheral surfaces of the drums 21a and 21b being in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the device 20, and are rotated in such a way that the spots which are in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the device 20 are rotated upward, secondary cooling devices 30a and 30b which cool the slag 62 discharged from the cooling device 20 to a temperature range lower than the glass transition temperature of the slag 62, and a flow rate adjusting mechanism which adjusts the flow rate of the molten slag supplied from the furnace 10 to the cooling device 20.
