PURPOSE: To provide a non gas-releasing molybdenum or a molybdenum allay member having excellent strength and heat resistance (high temp. strength and thermal stress resistance) and in which the generation of impurity gases is not recognized even in the case of use under high temp. and high pressure.
CONSTITUTION: The objective member (such as a pipe, bar, wire or the like) made of molybdenum or a molybdenum allay is constituted in such a manner that it is formed of the material subjected to plastic working of a refined molybdenum or molybdenum alloy as well as the length L and breadth D of the crystalline grains satisfy the inequality of D<L≤10×D, or its hardness is furthermore regulated to ≥100Hv or, in addition to these regulations, the total content of gaseous components is regulated to ≤100ppm.
