Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molybdenum disulfide powder having a low acid value and/or a low oil value and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a molybdenum disulfide powder 12 having a D50 particle size of less than 4 μm and an acid value of less than approximately 0.5 mgKOH/g. The method for producing the molybdenum disulfide powder comprises the following steps: preparing a precursor powder material 16; accelerating particles of the precursor powder material by integrating the flow of the precursor powder material with a gas 18; confining the accelerated particles in pulverization chambers 14 and 26, thereby making the particles collide with each other to reduce the size; and coating the newly exposed surface of the particles reduced in size with an oil 20.
