To prohibit movement of a shield plate under operation in a currency transaction processing device having the shield plate for covering the currency transaction processing slot so as to be selectively operated only from either of the inside or the outside of a counter for making visual contact impossible from the other side.
The device is equipped with a shield means to block visual contact of the currency transaction processing slot at least from the opposite side of an operator, a shield side detection means to detect the side where the shield means exists, a latch means to fix the shield means temporarily and to prohibit the movement, and a control means to control so that, based on the detected signal from the shield side detection means, the latch means is made to be operated and the shield means is fixed at a designated position.
