To provide a monitor camera system in which a signal can be sent/ received at an appropriate level corresponding to the length of a cable due to simplified circuit configuration and by which a timely and economic burden can be reduced during installation.

A monitor camera system is provided with at least one monitor camera to be installed at a desired position, a controller to monitor the monitor camera, and a cable to electrically connect the monitor camera with the controller. The cable is provided with a first data holding means to keep the data related to its total length, as well as a connector on its one end to be inserted to the connector. The controller is provided with a first reading means to read the data related to the cable length that is kept in the first data holding means, and a first controlling means which controls the controller according to the data related to the cable length.
