Abstract:
PURPOSE: To allow constant automatic monitoring of contamination on the surface of insulator in an air-insulated machine in substation due to briny air or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A live part 1 is insulated from the earth 2 through an insulator 3 having surface provided with a part 4 for detecting leak current flowing from the live part 1 through the surface of the insulator 3 to the earth 2. A section 5 for deciding contaminated state of the insulator 3 based on the output from the current detecting section 4 is interposed between the current detecting section 4 and the earth 2.
