Abstract:
PURPOSE: To facilitate the maintenance and monitoring of the field coils of a synchronous machine by always evaluating the proceeding of insulation deterioration of the field coils from the relation between the insulation resistance of the field coils and a relative humidity.
CONSTITUTION: The ground current sensor 7 of a monitor is composed of a detecting resistor 4, an insulating amplifier 5, and a rectifying smoothing circuit 6, and the ground current being the output of,the rectifying smoothing circuit 6 is inputted to a divider 9 via a comparator 8. Next, in the divider 9a field voltage is divided by a ground current to find the insulation resistance of the field coils. It is inputted to an insulation deterioration evaluating part 10, and the proceeding of the insulation deterioration of the field coils of the synchronous motor is evaluated. And the relation between the insulation resistance and the relative humidity is plotted at every certain operation/stop of the synchronous machine. Since the insulation resistance lowers when the deterioration of the insulation of the field coils progresses, the synchronous machine is stopped immediately, and cleaned, dried, etc., if the insulation resistance value changes widely. As the result, it becomes possible to perform the maintenance and inspection of the field coils of the synchronous machine easily.
