To provide a monitoring camera apparatus capable of detecting by itself an abnormality with injustice tricks by an intruder and to take appropriate countermeasures.

The monitoring camera apparatus 10 is constituted by providing a light emission part 105 which outputs prescribed irradiation light from the vicinity of an imaging part 101 toward the outside of the apparatus; an abnormality detection part 104 which judges whether or not the irradiation light of the light emission part 105 is received by the imaging part 101 by analyzing an imaging signal and detects that visibility of the imaging part 101 is interrupted on the basis of its judgment result and an injustice trick countervailing means for exercising prescribed countermeasures (such as output of an alarm tone) against the injustice tricks when visibility interference of the imaging part 101 is detected.
