Title:
MONITORING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004299499
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To easily identify a person illegally accessing a vehicle.

An omnidirectional front camera 10 is provided for picking up an image of front and side circumstances around the vehicle. The omnidirectional camera 10 can alternatively take a low position for picking up an image near a ground surface near the vehicle (solid line area in Fig.) and a high position higher than a hood for picking up an image inside a cabin. The omnidirectional camera 10 usually takes the low position and picks up the image near the ground surface, and the circumstances around the vehicle near the ground surface picked up are displayed on a display 20a. When a theft preventing device S4 is operated or large vibration to the vehicle is detected, the omnidirectional camera 10 takes the high position and picks up the image. The image picked up at the high position is stored in a memory S6.
