Abstract:

To provide a further possibility for detecting glue quantity or monitoring glue size applied to a wrapping strip, especially in marginal parts thereof, of the tobacco-processing industry, and for monitoring glued parts.

The apparatus for detecting and/or monitoring a glue quantity or glue size applied to a wrapping strip of the tobacco-processing industry has a ultrasound measuring system (10) comprising at least two ultrasound generating sources (13) adapted to supply the wrapping strip with ultrasound and at least two ultrasound sensor receiving units (14) adapted to receive the ultrasound signals penetrating the wrapping strip (15), wherein separating walls (21, 31) are each arranged between at least two of the ultrasound generating sources (13) and/or between at least two of the ultrasound sensor receiving units (14). The machine having the apparatus and for tobacco-processing industry is provided.
