Abstract:
An air cylinder 50 includes a tubular cylinder 52 and a piston 51 which is moved by pressure of a fluid supplied to a chamber 56, 57 provided inside the cylinder 52. A monitoring device 1 includes a heat flux sensor 10 and a detection part 13. The heat flux sensor 10 is provided to the cylinder 52 and detects heat flux that flows between inside and outside of the cylinder 52 due to compression or expansion of the fluid in the chamber 56, 57 caused in accordance with the movement of the piston 51. The detection part 13 detects the moving state of the piston 51 based on the output signal of the heat flux sensor 10.
