Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the working efficiency of a continuous casting machine by performing automatically the start and stop of a monitoring device for a cooling water nozzle in a cavity and the operation of a reflection mirror in accordance with the manipulated variable of a control means for suspension length and the manipulated variable of a control means for a gradient stored in a storage device.

CONSTITUTION: A monitoring device 1 for a cooling water nozzle having a reflection mirror 4 which is operated by a control means 11 for a gradient and a television camera 3 which picks up the video projected thereon is suspended in a see-through waterproof case 2 by means of a wire 14 operated by a control means 15 for suspension length and is inserted into a cavity A. The manipulated variable of the means 15 when the device 1 stops in the prescribed position in the region for monitoring the nozzle and the manipulated variable of the means 11 when the television camera receives the image of a prescribed cooling water nozzle 6 are stored in a storage device 18, and the start and stop of the device 1 and the operation of the mirror 4 are automatically accomplished.
