To provide a monitoring system in which a life-time of relatively moving components can be detected in advance, a replacement timing can be monitored before the life-time is expired, and can contribute to secure the reliability of machines or apparatuses wherein such relatively moving components are used.
In a rolling bearing A1 wherein solid lubricant films are formed in contact surfaces between an inner race 2 or an outer race 4 and balls 6, a scheme is provided in which an electrical resistivity of the solid lubricant film is measured by an electrical resistance measuring means 14, a state of wear of the solid lubricant film is monitored in an operation control means 26 from the measurement results, and the life end point or replacement timing of rolling bearing is administered based on the monitored results.
