Abstract:
To provide a monitoring system and a monitoring method for notifying that a dangerous point exists in a relatively close vicinity.SOLUTION: The monitoring system comprises: a light projection unit for projecting light in a direction along a boundary between a first region which is usable relatively safely and a second region which is relatively close to a dangerous point and approach to which is limited; a light reception unit for detecting a beam projected from the light projection unit; an output unit arranged in the vicinity of the boundary, for outputting information based on a supplied signal; and a control unit which, when a cutoff of the beam is identified on the basis of the result of detection of the beam, sends a signal including prescribed information to notify that approach to the second region is detected, to the output unit, causing the output unit to output to the effect that approach to the second region has been detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
