To provide a monitoring system capable of not only issuing an alarm from a central processing unit (CPU) but also notifying a place of a terminal detected by another terminal to monitor circumstances in an abnormal site when the abnormality has been detected by the terminal.
When the CPU 1 receives a non-stationary signal from terminals 2 to 6, it transmits a notice signal only to the terminal selected by a terminal selecting means 9. The terminal receiving the notice signal notifies a position of the terminal detected by the notifying means 21. The CPU 1 receives sound around the terminal detected by operation of a monitor starting means 22 of the terminal and transfers it to the terminal where the monitor starting means 22 is operated. Thus, it becomes possible to monitor the circumstances in the abnormal site after the position of the detected terminal is recognized.
