PURPOSE: To stably and uniformly reproduce a black image by rotating a toner stirring and supplying member which is provided with plural apertures on a peripheral surface approaching to/separating from a toner carrier roll and whose inside is hollow.
CONSTITUTION: Toner 1 passing through the aperture part 6B on one side of a developing machine and getting into the inside of the rotating member 6 gradually gets into the developing machine by the rotation of the member 6 and is uniformly dispersed inside, then discharged in a hopper 10 from the plural apertures 6A. The toner 1 discharged from the inside of the member 6 is supplied to a toner carrier 5 from a gap between the carrier 5 and the member 6 and passes a regulating member 4 which is set at specified pressure, so that the thickness of a toner layer is regulated to a specified one and the toner 1 is completely electrostatically charged. Bias voltage obtained by superposing AC voltage on DC voltage by a developing bias power source 8 is impressed on the carrier 5 and the toner 1 electrostatically charged by the member 4 adheres to an electrostatic latent image 3 on an electrostatic charge holding body 2 so as to visualize the image. Thus, the deterioration of the toner 1 is reduced, stable image quality is obtained, the device is miniaturized and the cost of the device is reduced.
