To provide a monoazo pigment having a color tone of a carmine 6B pigment and capable of being widely utilized for color reproduction by tone reduction mixing, without containing rosin, by solving such a problem that use of a large amount of the rosin in a conventional pigment is necessary and indispensable for obtaining the highly transparent color tone given by the carmine 6B pigment and exhibiting high color-rendering properties in the color reduction mixing, and to provide a coloring material by using the same.

This monoazo pigment is provided by combinedly conducting synthesis of the carmine 6B pigment and synthesis of a naphthol AS-based insoluble monoazo pigment, so as to conduct pigmentation at the same time. The coloring material is provided by using the pigment.
