Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a monoclonal antibody reactive to a phytophthora strain but substantially not showing a reactivity to a Pythium strain, and capable of detecting the phytophthora in an infected tissue by a two-specimen immunoassay method.

CONSTITUTION: The objective monoclonal antibody is obtained by separating a immunocompetent cells (preferably spleen cells) from a donor animal immunized by Phytophthora megasperma f. sp. glycinea, fusing the immunocompetent cells with a tumor cell line having an continuously dividing ability in a cell- culturing liquid, preferably a myeloma cell line having no ability for producing self monoclonal antibody (e.g. SP2/O-Ag14, X63-Ag8. 653), isolating the produced fused material and collect the objective monoclonal antibody belonging to IgG2b subclass from the obtained hybridoma.
