To obtain a new antibody capable of recognizing a specific mol.wt. antibody existing on the surfaces of the endothelial cells of a tumor vessel and useful for tumor-treating medicines, tumor-diagnosing medicines, etc., singly, together with a chemical therapy medicine or in a state combined with a binding atom such as a radioactive isotope, etc.
This new monoclonal antibody is capable of recognizing an antibody having a mol.wt. of 40kD or 80kD and existing on the surfaces of the endothelial cells of a tumor vessel. The antibody is useful as a medicine or a diagnostic medicines especially for treating or diagnosing tumors singly, together with a chemical therapy medicine or in a state combined with a binding atom such as a radioactive isotope. The monoclonal antibody is obtained by immunizing an animal with cytoplasmic vesicles prepared from tumor vessel endothelial cells obtained from the KMT-17 solid tumor of a rat, isolating antibody-producing cells from the animal, fusing the isolated antibody-producing cells with myeloma cells, screening the obtained hybridoma and subsequently culturing the obtained monoclonal hybridoma to produce the antibody.
