Title:
水光分解用のモノリス触媒システム
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP5266328
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
The monolithic catalyst system for the cleavage of water into hydrogen and oxygen with the aid of light, comprises a first photoactive material (50) associated together with auxiliary materials and auxiliary catalysts (92) when irradiated with the light having a wavelength of >= 450 nm of generating oxygen and protons from water, a second photoactive material (60) associated together the auxiliary materials and the auxiliary catalysts when irradiated with the light having a wavelength of >= 450 nm of reducing protons in water to hydrogen, and a substrate (10). The first and second photoactive materials are in direct electrical contact via electron-conducting materials (30, 20, 40). The auxiliary materials and the auxiliary catalysts are associated with the oxygen-generating material and/or the hydrogen-generating material. One of the electron-conducting materials comprises a metal or metal alloy or an oxidic electron-conducting material. The first photoactive material is an optionally doped oxide- and/or sulfide-containing material e.g. ruthenium disulfide, complexes or clusters containing a noble metal or a transition metal, and photoactive polymeric materials. The second photoactive material is a metal-containing complex e.g. a noble metal-containing complex such as ruthenium complexes, an organic compounds having an extended pi system, an oxide- and oxynitride-containing material, a phosphide-, arsenide-, antimonide-, sulfide- and selenide-containing material and a photosemiconducting polymer. The first photoactive material and/or the second photoactive material are bound by a functional group to the electron-conducting materials. The monolithic catalyst system has a plane multilayer structure, where one side of the structure comprises the first photoactive material and the other side of the structure comprises the second photoactive material or one side of the structure comprises the first photoactive material and the second photoactive material. An independent claim is included for a method of generating oxygen and hydrogen from water with the aid of light and a catalyst system.
