PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mononuclear iron bivalent complex having an iron-silicon bond capable of achieving excellent catalytic activity on at least one of three reaction, a hydrosilylation reaction, a hydrogenation reaction and a reduction reaction of a carbonyl compound.SOLUTION: There is provided a mononuclear iron bivalent composition represented by the formula (1). (1), where Rto Rrepresent each independently a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which may be substituted by X or the like, X represents a halogen atom or the like, Lrepresents at least one kind of two electron ligand selected from isonitrile, amine, imine, nitrogen-containing hetero ring, phosphine, phosphite and sulfide, two Ls may bind each other when there are a plurality of Ls, Lrepresents a CO ligand and a two electron ligand other than the L, two Ls may bind each other when there are a plurality of Ls, mrepresents an integer of 1 to 4, mrepresents an integer of 0 to 3 and m+mrepresents 3 or 4.SELECTED DRAWING: None
