Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:Monoterpenylbenzoquinone shown by the formula.
USE: Having physiological activity in inhibiting biosynthesis of prostaglandin, it is expected to have utility of becoming a nonsteroid antiphlogistic analgesic.
PROCESS: Arnebia euchroma (Royle) Johnst. (Macrotonia euchroma Pauls) containing monoterpenylbezoquinone shown by the formula used for the purpose of counteraction of inflammation, removal of fever, and detoxication in Chinese medicine is extracted with an organic solvent having high polarity such as methanol, etc., purified and separated by column chromatography, to give orange compound shown by the formula.
