Abstract:
To easily and safely shunt a ship when tidal waves or long-period waves strike.
A detached levee 2 longer than the length of a ship is installed parallel with a quaywall 1, in a position distant from the width of the ship, and shielding doors 5, 6 at least one of which is openable/closable, are installed between both lengthwise ends of the quaywall 1 and detached levee 2 to form a cargo handling channel 4 that can be shut off from the open sea.
