Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the slice refresh system or the column refresh system in which the efficiency of inter-frame anticipation is not deteriorated.
CONSTITUTION: An adaptive anticipation coding circuit 1 uses a motion vector of a motion vector detection circuit 2 to code an input picture according to refresh control information of a refresh control means 3. The motion vector detection circuit 2 detects a motion vector for each block of an input picture and gives it to the adaptive anticipation coding circuit 1. A motion direction discrimination means 4 detects a moving direction of the entire picture from an input picture. The refresh control means 3 selects adaptively a refresh direction based on a moving direction of the motion direction discrimination means 4 to give refresh control information to the adaptive anticipation coding circuit 1.
