Abstract:
PURPOSE: To arbitrarily control motion transmission characteristics by only controlling voltage to be applied without being influenced by shearing speed (number of revolutions, etc.).
CONSTITUTION: Dielectric particulates and/or electron transmission particulates 4 having mean grain size of 0.001 to 1000μm are scattered between a pair of electrodes which are relatively moved for generating poralization due to magnetic field, in vacuum or gas, with scattering rate of 1 to 50wt%. Voltage to be applied across the electrodes 2, 3 is controlled by a voltage application means 9, for regulating torque to be transmitted between the electrodes 2 and 3.
