Abstract:
PURPOSE: To perform motion vector estimation capable of performing error evaluation with high accuracy and with high accuracy even in an object boundary area.
CONSTITUTION: First and second images I1, I2 provided with timewise before and after relation are sent to hierarchical processing parts 11, 12, respectively, and they are made hierarchical. The images on each hierarchy are sent to block matching processing parts 13. 14, 15 and 16, the motion vector obtained by applying block matching processing at every hierarchy is smoothing-processed by smoothing processing parts 18, 19,... assuming that it is a one-dimensional vector field on an object contour curve, and sent to the block matching processing at the next hierarchy.
