The motive power control device for the vehicle is provided with a first clutch 4 interposed in the motive power transmission route between the drive wheel 10 and the engine 1; a second clutch 6 interposed in the motive power transmission route between the drive wheel 10 and the motor 2; a sun gear 30 in which a planetary gear mechanism 14 for motive power-transmittably connecting the first clutch 4 to the second clutch 6 and interposed in the motive power transmission route between the first clutch 4 and the second clutch 6 is connected to the drive wheel 10; a ring gear 32 connected to the sun gear 30 through the motor 2 and the second clutch 6; a pinion gear 34 interposed between the sun gear 30 and the ring gear 32 and engaged with the sun gear 30 and the ring gear 32; and a carrier 36 connected to the engine 1 through the first clutch 4 and rotatably supporting the pinion gear 34.
