To provide a motor control device capable of highly accurately controlling a motor to be driven without using a motor angle detecting sensor, even if a motor resistance varies due to a change in temperature or variations in production.
An angle speed estimated value ωe used for motor control of an electric power steering device is obtained as follows. A resistance calculating section 52 calculates a motor resistance value Rc on the basis of detection values Vm, Im of motor voltage and current in a steering stability state in which the motor stops its operation, and an average value calculating section 53 obtains an average value Rav in the steering stability period of the calculated resistance value Rc. A map storing section 55 stores a resistance map for correlating the motor current to the motor voltage, and a map updating section 54 updates the resistance map on the basis of the average value Rav. An estimated value calculating section 56 calculates the angle speed estimated value ωe on the basis of the detection values Vm, Im of the motor voltage and current and the resistance value Rm obtained by the resistance map.
