To provide a motor control device for an electric power steering apparatus, capable of reducing discontinuity of motor application voltage, while suppressing heat generation of a switching element by a simple technique, and capable of providing good steering feel.
While continuous change of the entire duty Dta is maintained in the entire load region of a motor and its distribution is performed. In a low load region (first region A1) of the motor, upper and lower uniform distribution is performed. In a medium load region (second region A2), upper and lower allocated distribution is performed, in which an upper duty Dh has a gradient larger than that of the upper and lower uniform distribution with an increase of the load so that it rapidly reaches 100% and a lower duty Dl is decreased correspondingly. In a high load region (third region A3), one-sided distribution is performed, in which the upper duty Dh is fixed to 100% and the distribution is performed for only the lower duty Dl.
