To improve control accuracy by compensating the linearity error of an analog output sensor of an MR sensor and the like and by reducing individual variations in the detection of an absolute position of rotation angle of a motor shaft.
A wiper motor 1 includes a pulse signal generation means 4, which outputs pulse signals, and the analog output sensor 5, which outputs analog signals according to the rotation angle. The motor 1 is controlled by a flash microcomputer 3. The flash microcomputer 3 has an initial data storage portion 13, which stores the relation of the analog signal voltage values of a storage position and a lower inversion position to the number of pulse integration when the motor 1 is actuated from the storage position to the lower turn-around position. Furthermore, the flash microcomputer 3 is provided with a wiper angular position calculation portion 14, which calculates a wiper position from the analog and pulse signals while referring to the initial data storage portion 13, and a motor drive control device 7, which controls the operation of the motor 1 based on the calculated wiper position.
