Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the time required until normal operation of a motor from being prolonged by detection of an open-phase fault or a short-circuit fault.SOLUTION: A gate drive circuit 53 performs DC electrification by setting an inverter circuit 30 to a first switching mode in the case of DC excitation when starting a fan motor 22 and then performs DC electrification by setting the inverter circuit 30 to a second switching mode different from the first switching mode further during the DC excitation. A current detection section 52 detects a first current flowing in the inverter circuit 30 under the first switching mode and a second current flowing in the inverter circuit 30 under the second switching mode. A fault detection section 55a performs fault detection by using the first current and the second current.
