Abstract:

To provide a motor control method and a motor controller capable of protecting a motor appropriately even if a motor power supply is turned off under overload state and then restarted without increasing the number of elements.

A load point is calculated depending on the operating state of a motor and drive control of the motor is performed based on an accumulation point calculated by accumulating the load point. Power supply to a CPU is sustained even if a main switch is turned off and connection between the motor and a battery is interrupted and the accumulation point is subtracted according to heat dissipation characteristics of the motor. Power supply to the CPU is sustained until the accumulation point decreases below a threshold S2. Even if power supply is interrupted (point P) under overload state of the motor and then the motor is restarted (point Q), control is started from an accumulation point corresponding to the state of the motor thus preventing damage on the motor due to misconception of load, unnecessary mode switching, forced stoppage, and the like.
