To suppress noise resulting from a deviation of a magnetic sensor attachment position, an error in position detection, or the like.
A motor drive apparatus includes: a commutation timing generation part 47 for outputting a commutation timing signal Dp; a drive waveform generation part 42 for outputting a waveform signal Wd in accordance with a timing of the commutation timing signal Dp; and an inverter 44 that energizes a winding 16 on the basis of a drive pulse signal Pd that is pulse width modulated using the waveform signal Wd. When a rotation speed is in a change state, the commutation timing generation part 47 outputs the commutation timing signal Dp generated based on a sensor signal Ss for each phase at a first timing generation part and when the rotation speed is in a stationary state, the commutation timing generation part 47 outputs the commutation timing signal Dp generated based on a single sensor signal Ss at a second timing generation part.
