To make the noise level of a motor drive device constant between individual devices with a simple structure which is easy to manufacture.
The motor drive device comprises a motor casing MC, a stator S, and a rotor R. A gap is provided between the inside circumferential surface MRs of the motor casing MC and the outside circumferential surface of the stator S. This stator S is fixed to the motor casing MC with the stator S pressed to one side of the radial direction in such a manner that a prescribed contact portion p3 set up inside a specific phase region U in the circumferential direction on the outside circumferential surface of the stator S contacts the inside circumferential surface MRs of the motor casing MC. A manufacturing method of the motor drive device includes a pressing process in which the stator S is accommodated in the motor casing MC and the stator S is pressed to one side in the radial direction so as to make the prescribed contact portion p3 contact the inside circumferential surface MRs of the motor casing and a process in which the stator S is fixed to the motor casing MC with the contact portion p3 in contact with the inside circumferential surface MRs of the motor casing MC.
