Abstract:
To provide a motor drive device and a motor drive method, capable of more efficiently driving a common mechanical load using a plurality of AC motors.SOLUTION: A motor drive device drives N AC motors configured to be capable of driving a common mechanical load in an interlocking manner (N is 2 or more integer). The motor drive device comprises N inverters and a common control unit. The respective N inverters convert DC power individually supplied from N DC power supplies insulated from one another to AC power. On the basis of rotation speed of at least one AC motor and detection values of output voltage of the N DC power supplies, the common control unit determines distribution of current to be made to flow on a plurality of windings of the N AC motors and provides a current instruction based on the distribution for each of the N inverters.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
