PURPOSE: To make the breadth of a motor-driven camera extremely short by making a driving motor a flat motor and providing it on the top or bottom end of a spool chamber or a cartridge chamber.

CONSTITUTION: This motor-driven camera is provided with the cartridge chamber 51, the spool chamber 12 and a shutter motor 5 driving a shutter charging mechanism and constituted to make the shutter motor 5 flat and provide it on the bottom end of the spool chamber 12. A flat ultrasonic motor composing the shutter motor 5 has the size of the diameter of the spool chamber 12 or so and a practical use, so that the motor can be housed just in a form where the spool chamber 12 is extended and almost coaxially arranged with the spool chamber 12. By such a constitution, the breadth of the motor-driven camera is shortened by the breadth of the shutter motor 5 and the operability of the motor-driven camera can be improved by the shortening of the breadth. Moreover, even if such a constitution that the motor is arranged on the upper side of the spool chamber 12 is adopted, the similar effect can be obtained.
