An apparatus for transferring the coating film 4 of the paste or the like to a matter 10 to be transferred such as the envelope 9 or the like includes a supply reel 13 for winding a transfer tape 5 coating the film 4, supporting shafts 6a, 6b for mounting a cartridge 2 having a winding reel 15 for winding the tape 5 after the tape 5 is fed and inverted by a head 14, gears 8a, 8b driven by a motor 7, and a guide groove 11 for inserting a side edge 10a of the matter 10 to travel the matter 10. The surface of the roller 23 is exposed to the groove 11, the cartridge 2 is mounted at the shafts 6a, 6b, the reel 15 is rotated by the motor 7 via the gears 8a, 8b to feed the tape 5 from the reel 13, inverted by the head 14 pressed to the surface of the roller 23, wound on the reel 15, and simultaneously the film 4 is automatically transferred to the matter 10 held between the roller 23 and the head 14.
