Title:
MOTOR-DRIVEN LINEAR ACTUATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3800719
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the unexpected variation of the full length of a linear actuator and the separation of the components of the actuator from each other at the time of transportation, etc., by inhibiting the rotation of a section which rotates together with a shaft or a ball nut by frictionally engaging the section with a second fixed to the internal surface of a housing only when a thrust load is applied in the opposite direction.
SOLUTION: A friction ring 35 is arranged between a worm wheel 17 which is a section that rotates together with a rotating shaft 2 and a retaining ring 15 which is a section that is fixed to the internal surface of a housing 7, so that the rotation of the rotating shaft 2 can be inhibited by holding the frictional ring 35 between the wheel 17 and the ring 15, only when a thrust load is applied to an output shaft 6 in the tensile direction which is opposite to the normal direction in which a thrust load is applied when a linear actuator is used. Therefore, the unexpected elongation of the full length of the linear actuator can be prevented. In addition, the coming off of a ball nut can be prevented, because the displacement of the nut 5 in the axial direction against a ball screw section 4 is prevented.
