Title:
MOTOR-DRIVEN POWER STEERING GEAR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2003327140
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To reduce the quantity of a radial clearance in a transmission part for transmitting torque of a motor to a worm, and to preclude the motor from interfering with a body, a vehicular component or the like, while keeping a satisfactory meshing relation between the worm and a worm wheel.

This power steering gear is provided with a housing 8 attached with the motor 5, the worm 6 of which one end part is connected to an output shaft 50 of the motor 5, a roller bearing 9 for supporting a motor side of the worm 6 to the housing 8, the worm wheel 7 meshed with the worm 6, and a pressing means 22 for pressing the worm 6 toward the worm wheel 7 in an opposite side opposed to the motor 5 in the worm 6. In the housing 8, the motor 5 is allowed to be attached to incline the output shaft 50 with respect to the center of the roller bearing 9, and the transmission part A for transmitting the torque of the motor 5 to the worm 6 is provided in the vicinity of the axis-directional central part of the roller bearing 9.
