Abstract:

To provide a motor-driven zoom camera capable of performing an accurate focusing even when burr or a level difference exists at a focusing position on a zoom lens frame.

This motor-driven zoom camera is equipped with a range-finding means for measuring a distance to a subject, a focusing driving amount arithmetic calculation means for arithmetically calculating focusing driving amount to the focusing position from the output of the range-finding means, a focusing driving means for driving a lens to the focusing position in either of first and second focusing areas based on the arithmetically calculated focusing driving amount, a position storage means for previously storing positional information on a parting line existing on the zoom lens frame and the inflection point of a cam, and a decision means for judging whether the focusing position exists on the parting line or the inflection point of the cam based on the arithmetically calculated focusing driving amount and the stored positional information. When the decision means judges that the focusing position exists on the parting line or the inflection point of the cam, the camera is focused in the other of the first and the second focusing areas.
