Abstract:
To provide a motor driving device, an image forming apparatus, and a motor driving method, in which step-out of a stepping motor can be prevented and the stepping motor can be rotated at high speed.SOLUTION: The motor driving device includes a stepping motor, a switching unit that sequentially switches excitation of a plurality of electromagnets of the stepping motor each time a pulse signal is inputted, a detection signal output unit that outputs a detection signal each time a rotor of the stepping motor rotates at a unit angle corresponding to the arrangement interval of the plurality of electromagnets, a first signal output unit that outputs the pulse signal to the switching unit each time the detection signal is inputted, and a second signal output unit that outputs the pulse signal to the switching unit once within the pulse signal output intervals of the first signal output unit when the rotation speed of the stepping motor becomes equal to or higher than a first speed which is lower than a target speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
