To provide a motor for driving disc having a structure capable of positively preventing a ball bearing from being deformed and keeping rotational accuracy of a rotor hub high.
This motor for driving disc includes the rotor hub 10 rotatably supported on a stationary part 1 through ball bearings 8, 9. The undersurface of a flat plate 12 is brought into contact with the upper end surface of an inner ring 8a of the upper ball bearing 8 through a cushioning material 27 in the rotor hub 10. Even when a load applied downward by a disc clamp 21 fixed to the upper end surface of a shaft 11 in the rotor hub 10 pressing a recording disc 18 acts on the inner ring 8a of the upper ball bearing 8, the load is absorbed in a cushioning material 28. It is thus possible to prevent a bearing function of the upper ball bearing 8 from being impaired and keep the rotational accuracy of the rotor hub high.
