To obtain a motor for electric power steering apparatus, which reduces operation sound and torque ripple, and enhances a handle steering of a driver.
The motor for electric power steering apparatus includes: a yoke; a magnetic field part which is formed with ferrite permanent magnets of 4-poles fixed to an inner wall surface of the yoke; a shaft 4 rotatably mounted in the yoke; an armature 20 fixed to the shaft 4, which has a wiring formed by machine lap winding of a conductive wire on 22 pieces of slots formed extending in the axial direction on an outer circumference of a core 9; a commutator 6 composed of a plurality of segments 16 having hooks 34, which is fixed to an end of the shaft 4; and 4 pieces of brushes abutting surfaces of the commutator 6, which are arranged at a magnetically central position of a magnetic flux distribution of the above magnetic field part. The motor is attached to a column in an interior of a vehicle.
