Abstract:

To provide a motor integrated magnetic bearing device stably controllable even when axial overload operates.

The motor integrated magnetic bearing device comprises rolling bearings and magnetic bearing combined, the rolling bearings 15, 16 supporting radial load, the magnetic bearing supporting one or both of axial load and bearing pre-load. An electromagnet 17 as part of the magnetic bearing is mounted on a spindle housing 14 so as to be opposed in no contact to two thrust plates 13a, 13b provided on the spindle 13. A motor rotor 28a is formed in a space between the two thrust plates 13a, 13b. An electromagnet target is formed on the face of one of the thrust plates 13a, 13b, and a permanent magnet 28aa for the motor rotor 28a is arranged on the face of the other. A motor stator 28b is arranged to be clamped by the permanent magnet 28aa. A controller 19 controls the electromagnet 17 in response to the output of a sensor 18 which detects force in the axial direction.
