Title:
MOTOR OPERATED SEAT BELT DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5871241
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To ensure confortable riding of a car by providing a means so that a seat belt is relaxed for a fixed time after tension is applied to it for a certain time and the restraint condition can be released by a separate manual operation.

CONSTITUTION: When tension is applied to a belt by a human body for a fixed time, it is detected by a detector 11, and a base voltage is fed to a transistor 13 through a delay circuit 12, turning that on. When the transistor 13 is turned on, a conventional device works in the same way as when a door is opened, and a motor 1 is rotated in the direction so as to release the seat belt. The non- constraint time of the belt at this time is maintained by the delay circuit 12. After the delayed time has elapsed, the transistor 13 is automatically turned off, and the motor 1 is rotated in the direction to fit the belt, thus restraining the crew again. When a manual switch 9 is turned on, a voltage is applied to the base of the transistor 13 and in addition the action of the delay circuit 12 is locked to prevent the delay action from occurring.
